Code of Conduct

All staff, NDIS participants, clients, volunteers, and any other party attending our support sessions and events must adhere to our Code of Conduct (the Code) including:

 

  • Treat any person with respect and dignity.

  • Ensure people of all cultures, race and believe systems feel safe and included.

  • We have a zero-tolerance anti-social behavior policy. This includes any act of verbal, physical and sexual abuse, violence, exploitation and/or neglect displayed to any person*.

  • Illicit drugs and/or alcohol consumption is not permitted during our support sessions and events*.

  • Smoking is permitted within approved designated areas only. Out staff will not enter homes, vehicles, or any contained spaces where smoking is being undertaken or risk of passive smoking can occur.

  • Whilst our services and events are supervised, we respect the privacy of all people, including people with disability.

  • Our activities must not be undertaken without the approval and supervision of a staff member.

  • We do our best to ensure appropriate protocols are in place for safety including (but not limited too) staff worker screening and training, appropriate participant ratio supervision, event and activity specific risk assessments, level 2 first aid, Covid Safe Planning and insurance. 

  • We are not liable and do not take responsibility in any way to any person, nor claims or guarantees, for their health including mental and physical ability and the management of any health conditions and medication which must be handled at their own discretion.

  • Whilst every effort has been made to ensure safety and supervision, we are not liable and do not take responsibility in any way to any person, nor claims or guarantees, for any loss, damage, costs or expenses to their personal belongings, possessions, or equipment.

 

Incident and Hazard Reporting

 

 Our staff, contractors, volunteers, participants of the NDIS, clients and any other party attending our support sessions and events must adhere to the following protocols:

 

  • Follow our Code of Conduct and all safety instructions, policies and procedures given by Rooster Tours Pty Ltd during induction

  • Adhere to the risk assessments provided during induction, apply first aid and use PPE equipment where required

  • Not put themselves or others at risk

  • Report all incidents and hazards using the ‘Incident and Hazard Report Form’ and/or ‘Child Safety Reporting Procedure’ as soon as possible after an incident has occurred, or a hazard has been identified, and provide a copy to the supervisor for further action as soon as possible

  • Supervisor to document and take further action in accordance with the ‘Incident Reporting Record Procedure’ and/or ‘Child Safety Reporting Procedure’ and save all ‘Incident and Hazard Report Forms’ in the ‘Completed Incident and Hazard Report File’

 

*Any person demonstrating such behavior will be escorted from the support session or event by a support worker, or their nominated emergency contact or the police where required.

 

**A hard copy risk assessment and incident/hazard report form is available during support sessions and events and can be provided and/or made available upon request.
